This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to version 1.0 and later of the mobile application “Pongly” (“App”) provided by Pongly (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
The App is an independent application provided by an individual developer and is not affiliated with any prior or other table tennis related application.
1. Summary — We Do Not Collect Your Personal Information
The App is a fully offline application.
- No user registration or account creation is required.
- All data entered by users (player names, photos, match results, rating history, etc.) is stored only on the user’s device.
- We do not transmit, retrieve, or view this data.
- The App does not embed any advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking SDK, or crash reporting SDK. No third-party SDKs such as Firebase, Google Analytics, or Crashlytics are bundled with v1.0.
- We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA / AAID).
- This Policy is consistent with our “Data Not Collected” declaration on Apple App Store “App Privacy” and Google Play “Data safety”.
2. Data Stored On Your Device
The following information that you enter into the App is stored only in the local storage of your device (SQLite database and the App’s private directory):
- Player names
- Player photos (only if you attach them)
- Records of individual leagues, matches, and set counts
- ELO-based rating history
- App preferences (language, theme, etc.)
This data never leaves the App except when you explicitly use the export feature (CSV / PDF / JSON).
3. When Network Communication Occurs
The App communicates with external services only in the following limited cases:

Personal information handling in these communications is governed by Apple’s and Google’s respective privacy policies.
4. In-App Purchases
- The “Pro” upgrade (which unlocks unlimited players and the tournament mode) is a one-time purchase. It is NOT a subscription.
- The free plan allows registering up to 12 players. The Pro upgrade is required when registering 13 or more players, or when using tournament mode (auto-split leagues, up to 200 players).
- Purchases are processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or retain your credit card information, Apple ID, Google account, or any related payment information.
- “Restore Purchases” is implemented in the App and performed via your store account.
5. Access to Photos
Attaching a player photo is optional. The App uses the OS-standard photo picker (Photo Picker), so it does not request access to your entire photo library.
Only the photo you explicitly select is copied into the App’s private directory. It is never transmitted externally.
6. Data Deletion
- You can delete on-device data at any time from the App’s settings screen or via OS-level controls.
- Uninstalling the App removes all data stored on the device (we recommend exporting a backup first).
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal information, no data covered by COPPA (USA), GDPR-K (EU), or other children’s privacy laws is collected. The App will be rated Apple 4+ and Google Everyone.
8. Compliance With Regional Laws
8.1 EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
We do not collect or process personal data, so most GDPR provisions do not apply. If an EU user enters identifiable information into the App locally, the controller of that data is the user. Because the App is fully offline, no cookie banner or consent UI is presented.
8.2 California (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell or share personal information of California residents (we do not collect any). There is no data subject to “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”.
8.3 China Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL)
The App does not transfer personal information of Chinese users outside of China (we do not collect any). All data entered by users in mainland China is stored on the device. The App v1.0 is NOT distributed via mainland China iOS / Android local stores; it is distributed only to Traditional Chinese regions (Taiwan, Hong Kong) and to other global stores.
8.4 Japan Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI)
We do not collect personal information, so most obligations of a personal information handling business operator do not apply.
9. Data Security
Data stored on your device is protected by the OS-standard application sandbox. We do not apply additional encryption, but because no data is transmitted, a third party would need physical access to the device to read it. We recommend that you set a passcode on your device.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Policy may change without prior notice. Material changes will be communicated through an App update or on the official website. The change history is maintained on the official website.
